All mirrors are compromised When their sepals try to summit your eyes How I need you all the time Shadow before your step How I miss you before I miss you How I need you all the time Within the air you wreathe your knell La Belle Dame Sans Merci I’m ageless I’m ageless with you It’s not only just the violets of your neck All mirrors are compromised When their sepals try to summit your eyes How I need you all the time Shadow before your step How I miss you before I miss you How I need you all the time I’m ageless I’m ageless with you It’s not only just the violets of your neck I’m ageless Within the air you wreathe your knell La Belle Dame Sans Merci I’m ageless I’m ageless with you It’s not only just the violets of your neck I’m ageless I’m ageless with you It’s not only just the violets of your neck I’m ageless I’m ageless with you It’s not only just the violets of your neck

Help me pick these sickly flowers So, profuse, by muse, chartreusely dower'd The velour'd in malaise weigh'd down by a princely sighing Coutured from decay, fortress'd from the rays of a cloying sun My hands have grown cold, my eyes are so swollen, Mulling, regaled by the frail cabernets By the ochres & slates that the rain devoréd Help me pick these sickly flowers So profuse, reclus'd to acrid bowers May they wilt in your grasp, As I jilt their eldritch laurels When the thorns have unclasp'd, Will you slake from the dapples dancing red? My hands have grown cold, my eyes are so swollen, Mulling, regaled by the frail cabernets By the ochres and slates that the rain devoréd In bells of bile In blooms of spleen My hearts reviled All my stars unclean Would you know them? All dusk drain'd out, Would you know them? My hands have grown cold, my eyes are so swollen, Mulling, regaled by the frail cabernets By the ochres and slates that the rain devoréd In bells of bile In blooms of spleen My hearts reviled All my stars unclean Would you know them? All dusk drain'd out, Would you know them?

about

Recorded and produced during the start of the Covid lockdowns at Moon Palace Studios by Chris King (Cold Showers, Kaitak), these two tracks elaborate some of The Victoriana’s manifold romanti-goth proclivities. The first, “Violets of Your Neck,” is an obsessive ballad to a love in whose proximity, the Fountain of Youth is produced, leaving you as immortal as the violets in her perfume. “(These) Sickly Flowers,” is a desperately ambivalent self-improvement plea, pictured as a wicked garden watered by our darker aspects, overgrown and paradoxically attractive and repellent.
